Hi, I’m Courtney! I’m so glad you came to visit. If you had come to my house we’d sit and visit at the kitchen island while the kids ran around playing. We’d talk about how cold it’s been lately or how the farm work is coming along. We’d share about the latest project we’ve been working on, or ask for advise to that nagging problem we’re dealing with. That’s what I’d like to do here.
But first, let me introduce myself.
I’ve been married for 15 years to one of the hardest working farmers I know. We’ve got five boys and I’ve heard, “That’s a handful!” more than a handful of times.
My husband and I home school our boys, and let me tell you I’ve tried plenty of different things over the last 9 years. There is a time and season for each one, and you’ll likely see my experiences about this journey.
My family works hard together. Every member of our family plays an integral role in our organic family farm. The littlest boys bring tools, put away garbage, and pick rocks. The oldest ones help Dad in the field running machinery. I keep food in our bellies, and organic records in order. No job is too small, no person unimportant. We work as a team, and you will often hear my boys repeating, “many hands make light work!”, an adage you will often hear me say.
I love the simple pleasures in life. Every season of the year (and we have four of them here) you’ll find me outside doing things. I love growing wholesome food in the garden, playing with the farm animals, walking across our wide open prairie, or just having a picnic in the shade with the kids.
I would like to share with you things I have learned through the years about gardening, keeping livestock, homeschooling, and keeping your faith strong.
I would like to share with you life on the farm as we produce organic grains and help you understand the process we go through as we get food to your table.
So browse our pages, and enjoy the journey with me!
